Women's Tennis Hosts Tusculum in Non-Conference Matinee on Thursday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis hosts Tusculum in a non-conference matinee Thursday afternoon (Feb. 2). First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club.

About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs come into the match at 3-1 overall after a 6-1 win over Wofford on Sunday (Jan. 29). Asheville has a combined 9-3 doubles record so far this season, as well as a combined 16-8 singles record. Elizabeth Tindera and Valeria Centeno lead the way in doubles play with a 4-0 record, while Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp are 3-0 and Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson are 2-2. Dougah and Tindera are each 4-0 in singles play, while Steenkamp is 3-0 and Centeno and Avery Sager each have two singles wins on the season. Dickson also has one singles win so far on the season.

About the Pioneers - The Pioneers enter the match with a 2-0 overall record, blanking North Greenville 7-0 their last time out on Oct. 29, 2022. The Pioneers own a 16-8 doubles record on the season, along with a 36-16 singles record. Leonie Floeth and Ylva Frafjord Landa own four doubles wins on the year, while five other doubles tandems each have two wins and two others have one. Valentina Loretz leads the way in singles play with nine wins, while Floeth has seven and Paulina Loretz has six. Four other Pioneers have singles wins on the season.

Series History - This will be the third all-time matchup between Asheville and Tusculum. Asheville leads the all-time series 2-0, winning the last matchup in shutout fashion 7-0 on Jan. 22, 2022.
