Last Time Out – Asheville outlasted Presbyterian by a score of 88-80 in overtime last Wednesday at Kimmel Arena. The victory, which is Asheville's seventh straight, boosts the Bulldogs' record to 16-6 overall and 8-1 in Big South play.
A Night to Re-Pember – Senior Drew Pember led the way for the Bulldogs in Wednesday's win over Presbyterian. Pember scored a school record 48 points, matched the program record for the most 3-pointers made in a game (8), and grabbed 12 rebounds. Pember's 48-point performance is the most points scored by a Division I player this season and it matched the Big South record for the most points scored by a player in a regular season game.
Jones Nearing Another Milestone – Tajion Jones has achieved some milestones this season that few players in Big South history have reached. Jones, who enters Saturday's game with 1,766 points, needs to score just 13 more points to become Asheville's all-time leading scorer in the Division I era. With those 13 points, Jones would pass Matt Dickey (1,778). Jones is also nearing the Big South's record for games played and minutes played.
Best Big South Start Since – With Longwood's loss to Radford on Thursday night, the Bulldogs enter Saturday's action alone in first place in the Big South standings with an 8-1 record. The 8-1 start by the Bulldogs in conference play is their best nine-game start since the 2011-12 season when they also started 8-1. Additionally, Asheville has won seven straight Big South games for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
About Campbell – Campbell enters Saturday's game with Asheville with an overall record of 9-12. The Camels, who are 4-5 in Big South play, have picked up back-to-back wins over Charleston Southern (78-76) and High Point (72-64) recently.
Series Rewind vs. Campbell – Asheville and Campbell have met a total of 45 times since the Bulldogs moved up to the Division I ranks in the mid-1980s. The Bulldogs are 25-21 against the Camels in that stretch, which includes a 58-55 win over the Camels earlier this month at Kimmel Arena.
