Women’s Soccer continues road swing Thursday at Davidson

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will continue its road swing on Thursday when it visits Davidson for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Wildcats is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville fell in its last match on the road at Elon last Sunday by a score of 4-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs saw their record dip to 2-3-1 on the 2022 season.
Taylor is near the top of the national scoring list – Despite not tallying a point in the last two matches, sophomore Taylor Gardner remains among the nation's top scorers. Gardner still leads the Big South with 11 points so far this fall, which ranks 15th in the country.
Improved Offense in 2022 – An improved part of Asheville's team this season has been its ability to score. The Bulldogs are currently averaging 2.33 goals per game compared to the 1.06 mark from last season. In addition to Gardner's point production, Asheville has received contributions offensively from several different players. Overall, 13 different Bulldogs have tallied at least one point this season.
About the Wildcats – Davidson is off to its best start in program history in 2022. The Wildcats will bring an undefeated record (5-0-1) into Thursday's match. Thursday's contest will mark the fifth match for Davidson against a Big South foe this season with the Wildcats going 3-0-1 in the previous four matches vs. Big South opponents.
Series Rewind vs. Davidson – Thursday will mark the 14th match between Davidson and UNC Asheville with the first meeting occurring back in 1993. Asheville, which will be looking for its first win over the Wildcats since 2004, will be making its first trip to Davidson since 2011.
