Volleyball readies for a road match at Chattanooga on Wednesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to take on Chattanooga. First serve between the Bulldogs and Mocs is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville and Chattanooga met last Wednesday at the Justice Center. Despite the best efforts of the Bulldogs, the Mocs came away with the victory in five sets (25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-9). With the loss, Asheville's record moved to 3-6 on the 2022 campaign.
Can you Dig it – Entering Wednesday's match, Asheville leads the Big South averaging 15.47 digs per set. On a national level, the Bulldogs' digs per set average ranks 61st in the country. A big part of this can be traced to the team's libero, Giulia Rodrigues. Rodrigues paces Big South players averaging 4.77 digs per set and is second in overall digs with 143.
Last Non-Conference Test – Wednesday will be the last non-conference match of the season for the Bulldogs. Asheville will open Big South play next Thursday and Friday when it hosts Winthrop and Radford at the Justice Center.
About Chattanooga – Chattanooga currently boasts a 4-6 record on the 2022 season. A key player for the Mocs is Natalie Tyson. Tyson leads the team with 127 kills and is second on the squad with 123 digs.
