Men’s Soccer preps for a home match vs. Queens (N.C.) on Tuesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Queens University of Charlotte at Greenwood Field. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Royals is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville dropped a close 2-1 decision to Belmont at home on Saturday. With Saturday's setback, the Bulldogs are now 1-4-0 on the 2022 campaign.
Among the Saves Leaders – Junior goalkeeper Ian McGill will enter Tuesday's match with 18 saves to his credit so far this season. His save total ranks second in the Big South behind only Holden Trent (High Point) and his 20 saves. Furthermore, McGill averages 4.50 saves per game, which paces the conference.
Spreading the Scoring – With a goal Saturday vs. Belmont, Sam Presser joined teammates Sam Pitts-Eckersall (three goals) and Brendan Herb (two goals) as Bulldogs that have scored two or more goals so far this season. Thanks to these early goals, each player ranks in the top 10 of the Big South leader board in scoring. Asheville is one of four Big South teams that have three or more players in the top 10 joining Campbell (four), Gardner-Webb (three), and Presbyterian (three).
About the Royals – Queens, which is in its first season of transitioning from a Division II program in 2022, will bring a 0-4-0 record with it to Asheville on Tuesday.
Series Rewind vs. Queens – Tuesday will mark the first ever meeting between Queens and UNC Asheville.
