Asheville’s match at ETSU on Sunday Declared a No Contest

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Due to inclement weather conditions, Sunday's match between the UNC Asheville women's soccer team and East Tennessee State was called in the 69th minute with the score tied 1-1. When the match was called, they were at the 69:06 mark of the contest, but for it to become official, the teams had to get 70 complete minutes in.
In the action that occurred from Johnson City, ETSU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. The Buccaneers would hold the lead until the 52nd minute when Asheville's Solveig Schlitter tied the match at 1-1 with a goal of her own. Senior Bronwyn Luitwieler tallied a pair of saves in her near 70 minutes in net for the Bulldogs.
With the match being ruled a "no contest", statistics from Sunday do not count under the season totals.
Asheville will return home on Wednesday when it hosts Mount St. Mary's at Greenwood Field. Kickoff for that tilt is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
