No. 4 Women's Tennis drops 4-0 match to No. 1 Charleston Southern in Big South Semifinals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Women's Tennis concluded their season on Friday afternoon, dropping a 4-0 contest to defending champion Charleston Southern.
Asheville opened doubles play dropping the first two courts 6-4 and 6-3, while Lize Alet Morkel and Taylor Love were ahead 5-4 before the Bucs clinched the point on the No. 1 court.
The Bulldogs battled in singles play, with Morkel (No. 1), Linge Steenkamp (No. 3), and Rosie Dickson (No. 5) all taking their first set to put pressure on the Bucs.
Charleston Southern held their ground however, pushing two of those three to a third set, while taking the Nos. 2, 4, and 6 courts in straight sets to clinch the match.
The Bulldogs finish the season with multiple high notes and records finishing with 13 wins, the most since 2015, and four regular season conference wins, the most since 2017.
Asheville's five All-Conference honorees are the most in program history, while seniors Taylor Love and Morkel leave the program as one of the all-time winningest senior classes combining for over 120 wins, with Morkel totaling 73, and Love 51.
