Men’s Tennis travels to Hampton Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team looks to get back into the win column this weekend, traveling to Hampton for a 10:00 a.m. match on Saturday.

Last Time Out
The Bulldogs are coming off another tough loss, falling to Campbell 4-3 this past Saturday evening. Asheville was able to battle the Camels to the brink, tying the match at three points apiece before Campbell's Noe MacQuart was able to top Rafa Serra in three sets for the win. Asheville (8-6, 2-3 Big South) has lost three straight, but all three have been to the current top three seeds in the Big South, including Radford (6-0) and Campbell (5-0).

A look at the Pirates
Hampton is just 2-12 overall on the season and 0-6 in conference play. Most recently, Hampton fell in its non-conference match against Howard by a score of 5-2. Donte Armbrister was able to score a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 flight, while Daud Gantt-Bey registered a 7-5, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot.

Series History
Saturday will be the first time these two teams have met since 2019, in which Asheville swept the Pirates 7-0 in Asheville.
