Men’s Tennis falls at Presbyterian Wednesday

CLINTON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team visited rival Presbyterian on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the contest 5-2.
Presbyterian opened up with wins at the first and second doubles flight as the action shifted to singles. The Blue Hose would clinch the victory with wins at No. 6, 1, 4, and 5.
Harry Thursfield and Leo Bierbaum continued to stay hot, however, as Thursfield battled to a two-set tie-break victory at the No. 2 flight. In the No. 3 position, Bierbaum mirrored Thursfield, dropping the first set before winning the second convincingly and taking the match in the super tiebreak.
The Bulldogs, who have dropped three straight, sit at 8-6 overall and 2-3 in Big South play, while Presbyterian moves to 3-2 in the conference (12-8 overall).
Asheville remains on the road this Saturday, making the trek to Hampton for a 10 a.m. match.
