Women's Tennis cruises to 7-0 victory at Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – UNC Asheville Women's Tennis improves to 11-2 and 3-1 in Big South play after a 7-0 shutout win at Hampton.
The Bulldogs started out the day with two 6-1 doubles victories by the first-time duo of Ami Grace Dougah and Taylor Love on the No. 2 court, and Lize Alet Morkel and Beatrice Faureng on the No. 3 court.
Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp were ahead 5-1 in their match before the Bulldogs clinched the point.
For the second time this season, every Bulldog won their singles match in straight-sets, matching their performance against Lees-McRae in January.
Morkel and Dougah continue to be one of the toughest 1-2 combinations in the Big South, winning their matches 6-0, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-2.
Love and Faureng followed behind with victories of 6-2, 6-4, and 6-1, 6-1, while Kendall Byers and Siegel won 6-1, 6-0, and 6-2, 6-0.
Dougah moves to 11 singles wins on the year, surpassing her total of 10 in the 2021 campaign, while Steenkamp also moves to 11 singles wins.
The victory is Asheville's fourth 7-0 victory on the year, doubling last year's total with four games yet to play.
The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround and travel across the state to Radford for a matchup at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
