ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Coming off their 4-3 win at North Carolina A&T Thursday, the UNC Asheville men's tennis team remains on the road, visiting Radford for a conference clash on Sunday.
Last Time Out
The depth of Asheville shined on Thursday, as Bruno Serra's three-set tiebreak win lifted the Bulldogs to a 4-3 victory over the Aggies. Asheville picked up two quick wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, and after North Carolina A&T evened the match at 3-3, Serra outlasted Ethan Baly to move Asheville to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.
A look at the Highlanders
Radford is 9-5 on the season, but like Asheville, is a perfect 3-0 in Big South play. The Highlanders have won seven of their last eight and are coming off a 7-0 sweep at Longwood. Last season, Radford went 4-1 in the Big South before ultimately falling to Presbyterian in the Big South Championship final. Demis Taramonlis is 8-5 at the No. 1 flight while Andres Silva has put together and impressive season, going 2-0 at No. 1 and 7-2 at No. 3. The duo has teamed up to go 8-3 in No. 1 doubles action.
Series History
While Radford has gone 9-6-1 in the last 16 matchups, UNC Asheville has gone 4-0-1 in the last five contests against the Highlanders. Last season, the Bulldogs bested Radford 5-2 at the Asheville Racquet Club.
