Men’s Tennis bounces back with 4-1 win over Belmont

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team responded after dropping its first match Saturday against North Florida, defeating Belmont 4-1 at the Asheville Racquet Club.
It was Belmont who got off to a strong start, winning both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches by a score of 6-4.
Asheville responded in a big way in singles matches, as Jon Brann Reid topped Arthur Toledo 6-4, 6-4. At the No. 2 flight, Harry Thursfield looked strong with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. At the No. 3 position, Bruno Serra opened up with a 6-3 win in set one, before dropping the second 2-6. The junior from Burlington, North Carolina, answered in a big way with a 6-3 win as the Bulldogs inched closer to victory.
At the No. 4 flight, Sirawit Daosaengsawang brought the match home defeating Ian Cruz by the score of 6-1, 6-3.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to a strong 5-1 on the season. Asheville returns to the court next Sunday, hosting Longwood for the conference opener at 2:00 p.m.
