HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The UNC Asheville track & field programs won four events on the opening day of the Marshall Invitational on Friday.
Three of Asheville's four event victories came in the field events. Grady Rector (High Jump – 1.80-meters), Isaac Teasley (Long Jump – 6.39-meters), and Jack Choiniere (Weight Throw - 16.65-meters) all finished first in their respective events. The final event win for the Bulldogs came in the men's distance medley relay, where Brock Newsome, Bryson Riddick, Walker Lezotte, and Jackson Core led the field with a time of 10:44.95.
A little more in-depth look at the highlights for Asheville showed some improved marks from their student-athletes. Like Choiniere, Moraga's outing Friday ranks second on the school's indoor list behind only a toss of 16.87-meters from Corey McClintock from 2013.
