ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team will hit the road for a pair of matches at Radford on Friday and Winthrop on Saturday. Friday's match will begin at 6 p.m., while Saturday's tilt will begin at 2 p.m. Friday's contest will air on ESPN+.

Last Time Out – Asheville dropped a three-set contest to 25-13, 25-23, 25-12 to Campbell last Saturday at the Justice Center. With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 3-15 overall and 0-8 in Big South play.

On the road again – Following a brief two-match homestand, the Bulldogs will back out on the road this weekend. Asheville will be looking for its first true road win of the season when it visits Radford and Winthrop. A player for Asheville that has had some success away from home this season is Nina Finderle as she has 31 kills and has attacked the defense at a .325 clip on the road this season.

Bulldog to watch – Another Bulldog to watch this weekend due to her recent stellar play is senior Lexy Cole. In the last five matches, Cole has totaled 29 kills, attacked at a .301 clip, and is tied for the team-lead with 14 total blocks.

About the Opponents – Radford enters this week's action with a record of 7-13 overall and 3-5 in Big South play. The Highlanders picked up a five-set road win at USC Upstate in their last match. A pair of Highlanders to watch on Friday are the duo of Taylor Jefferson (7th – 2.63) and Crystal Childs (9th – 2.56) as both players rank among the top 10 in kills per set among Big South players.

Winthrop, meanwhile, is currently riding a four-match winning streak. The Eagles, now 10-9 overall and 6-2 in Big South play, are stellar on defense as they rank 18th nationally in opponent's hitting percentage checking in at .162.

Series Rewind vs. Opponents – The all-time series between the Bulldogs and the Highlanders is split right down the middle as each program has beaten the other 35 times. Radford, however, does hold the edge in matches played on its home court against Asheville posting a 17-14 record.

Winthrop is 44-33 all-time against Asheville with one of those victories coming earlier this season at the Justice Center. The Bulldogs will be looking for their first win in Rock Hill since 2018 on Saturday.
