Women’s Soccer hits the road Saturday for a match at Longwood

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will be back in action Saturday when it visits Longwood for another Big South matchup. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Lancers is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Kaiya Boyd netted her second goal of the season, but the Bulldogs ended up falling at USC Upstate on Wednesday by a score of 2-1. With the loss, Asheville is now 3-8-3 overall and 1-4-1 in Big South play.
Bronwyn boosted into the top 10 – Senior goalkeeper Bronwyn Luitwieler recently joined an exclusive group of Asheville keepers becoming the 10th ever to eclipse 100 career saves. Luitwieler, who is up to 109 saves in her career, needs 11 more stops to move into ninth place on Asheville's all-time saves list.
Down the final stretch of the season – Asheville has just three matches left on its regular season schedule. After Saturday's match at Longwood, the Bulldogs close out their home schedule on October 22 by hosting Campbell before closing out the season with a trip to Presbyterian on October 26.
About Longwood – The Lancers come into Saturday's match with Asheville sporting an overall record of 5-7-3 and a 2-3-1 mark in Big South play. A player to watch for Longwood is its goalkeeper, Mary Kate Levush. Levush leads all Big South goalkeepers and ranks 13th nationally in saves (80).
