Women’s Soccer readies for a road match at USC Upstate on Wednesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will hit the road on Wednesday to take on USC Upstate in a clash of Big South foes. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Spartans is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Despite scoring first, the Bulldogs fell to Radford last Saturday at Greenwood Field by a score of 2-1. With Saturday's loss, Asheville moved to 3-7-3 overall and 1-3-1 in Big South play.
Shot Accuracy Spotlight – As the season has moved along, a pair of Bulldogs have separated themselves in terms of shooting accuracy among Big South players. Asheville's Solveig Schlitter (1st - .538) and Taylor Gardner (2nd - .536) rank first and second, respectively, in the conference in shot accuracy.
Down the Stretch Run – The Bulldogs have just four matches left on their regular season schedule. After Wednesday's match at Upstate, Asheville will travel to Longwood this Saturday before hosting Campbell on October 22 and traveling to Presbyterian on October 26. The top four teams in the league standings will advance to the Big South Women's Soccer Championship.
About the Spartans – USC Upstate enters Wednesday's match with the Bulldogs sitting at the top of the Big South standings with 12 points so far in 2022. Overall, Upstate is 6-3-3 this season, including a 4-1-0 mark in league matches.
