Women’s Basketball preps for a matchup with Presbyterian Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team will continue its three-game homestand on Saturday when it welcomes Presbyterian to Kimmel Arena. Tip-off between the Blue Hose and Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville fell its last time out to High Point by a score of 61-57. The loss dips Asheville's overall record to 7-10 on the season and 2-4 in Big South play.
Dynamic Duo – After a 20-point, 14-rebound effort Tuesday against High Point, Kai Carter has now scored 20 points or more on four occasions this season. Teammate Nadiria Evans, meanwhile, has netted 20 points or more seven times. Carter and Evans join Longwood's duo of Akila Smith (five times) and Kyla McMakin (five times) as the only teammates in the Big South that have scored 20 or more on four or more occasions in the 2021-22 season.
Rebound, Rebound, Rebound – A strength for Asheville this season has been its work in the rebounding department. The Bulldogs lead the Big South in both total rebounds (650) and rebounding average (38.24). Furthermore, Asheville's rebound total of 650 ranks 83rd nationally in Division I women's basketball.
Ivie posts another career-high – Freshman Jordaynia Ivie, who leads Asheville freshmen in multiple statistical categories, has stepped things up lately. Ivie has established a new career-high point total in two of the last three games. The latest outing against High Point saw Ivie net 12 points on an efficient 5-for-9 effort from the field to go with three steals.
About Presbyterian – Presbyterian comes into Saturday's tilt with the Bulldogs having won two of its last three games. Overall, the Blue Hose have compiled a 7-8 record in 2021-22 and a 2-3 mark against Big South competition. Jade Compton is a player to watch for PC, who leads the Blue Hose in both scoring average (15.6 PPG) and rebounding average (7.3 RPG) this season.
