Women’s Soccer drops contest to Elon 3-0

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Women's Soccer team hosted Elon on Thursday night, falling to the Phoenix 3-0.
Elon scored all three goals in the first half, registering 28 shots with 13 on frame. Courtney O'Malley was active all night for the Bulldogs, producing a season-high eight saves. The Bulldogs fall to 0-5, while Elon improves to 2-2.

How it Happened
Elon was peppering the net early, breaking through in the 12th when Mackenzie DePriest-Kessler set up Isabelle Paradoski for the score. In the 24th, the Phoenix would earn a corner and capitalize, as Abby Fusca found Kayla Hodges in the box for the score.
Elon continued to press, making the score 3-0 just before the half when Lydia Totten fired a shot off the inside post. Elon controlled much of the pace in the second before Anna Doane ripped a shot on frame that was turned away by McKenna Dalfonso.
