Men’s Tennis tops Montreat College 5-2

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team returned to the court on Saturday, welcoming Montreat College to the Asheville Racquet Club, defeating the Cavaliers 5-2.
The Bulldogs took two of the three doubles matchups and four of the six singles flights to give themselves a 5-2 victory.
Charlie Morkel and Jon Brann Reid edged out their opponents 7-5 at the No. 1 singles flight, while Harry Thursfield and Leo Bierbaum took care of business 6-2 at the No. 3 doubles.
With Montreat winning the No. 1 singles matchup, Asheville would win No. 2 through No. 4, as well as No. 6. Thursfield dispatched his opponent 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 singles flight, with Reid winning 6-0, 7-5 at the No. 3 singles and Bierbaum taking care of business 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles flight. Finlay Ray McFayden would lift the Bulldogs to victory, taking the No. 6 singles match 6-4, 6-2.
Asheville has a quick turnaround, hosting Chattanooga on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
