Men’s Tennis hosts Radford on Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Winning three straight in Big South play, the UNC Asheville men's tennis team hosts Radford at the Asheville Racquet Club on Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The Bulldogs enter Sunday's matchup 6-4 on the season and are 3-0 in conference play. This past Wednesday, Asheville was able to edge out Presbyterian with Jon Brann Reid's three-set win at the No. 3 flight giving the Bulldogs the 4-3 advantage. In singles action, Leo Bierbaum is 8-2 competing in flights No. 3-5, while Reid is 7-1 at No. 3 and No. 4. In doubles action Reid and Charlie Morkel are65-2, with Bierbaum and Thursfield going 6-2 as a duo.
Scouting the Highlanders
Radford is 6-5 on the season and 2-0 in Big South play with 6-1 wins over Campbell and Gardner-Webb. Yeven Sirous has spent the bulk of his time at the No. 1 flight going 5-5 overall while Demis Taramonlis is 7-3 overall and 6-3 at the No. 2 flight. In doubles action, Sirous and Guilherme Severin are 5-4 at the No. 1 flight.
Series History
Radford has had the upper hand in the series, picking up nine wins with Asheville registering five and the two sides even tying (3-3) in 2017. The Bulldogs, however, enter Sunday having won three of the last four matches, with the third being the aforementioned tie.
