Men’s Tennis tops Longwood 5-2 on Sunday

FARMVILLE, Va. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team capped off weekend play on Sunday, defeating Longwood in strong fashion 5-2.
Charlie Morkel and Jon Brann Reid teamed up for a 6-4 victory at the No. 1 doubles position, with Leo Bierbaum and Harry Thursfield winning by the same margin to give the Bulldogs the team point.
Bran Reid picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 3 singles flight, while Thursfield took down his opponent 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4 position. Leo Bierbaum took care of business 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot, while Sirawit Daosaengsawang cruised 6-0, 6-3
Asheville now sits at 5-4 overall this year, improving to a perfect 2-0 in Big South play. The Bulldogs return home for its next match, hosting Presbyterian on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
