Men's Tennis sweeps Campbell 7-0 to start Big South play

With the win, Asheville improves to 4-4 on the season and is 1-0 in conference play, returning to the court on Sunday when it travels to Longwood for a match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Leo Bierbaum and Harry Thursfield set the tone early, sweeping their opponents 6-0 at the No. 3 doubles position. Oli Nolan and Rafa Serra would earn a close 7-5 victory at the No. 2 doubles flight as the Bulldogs grabbed the team point.
In singles competition, Sirawit Daesaengsawang opened things up with a 7-5, 6-1 victory at the No. 6 singles flight, while Charlie Morkel topped his opponent 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 2 flight. Oli Nolan gutted out his No. 1 singles competition, taking the first set 6-2 before closing out the second with a 7-6 tiebreak (to three) win. Thursfield sealed the victory for Asheville at the No. 4 flight, winning 6-2, 7-6 (5). Jon Brann Reid and Bierbaum both were taken to five sets, but closed out their matches 7-6 (5) and 6-2, respectively.
The victory over Campbell is the first since the Bulldogs topped the Camels 4-3 at the Asheville Racquet Club back in 2016.
