Women’s golf returns to action Saturday in Low Country Intercollegiate

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf returns to the course this weekend, competing in the Low Country Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament, which is hosted by Wofford College, will take place at the Bear Creek Golf Course on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
The Bulldogs most recently competed at the Kiawah Island Classic, which is the biggest collegiate golf tournament in the country. After carding the lowest team score on the Oak Point Course (304, +16) on day one, the Bulldogs finished 32nd overall. Madyson Gold had a strong performance, finishing with her lowest 18 of her young career, shooting a 3-over-par 75 to finish in a tie for 78th place.
Bear Creek is a par-72 course with total yardage of 5,906. Each day will consist of 36 holes of stroke play with tee times beginning at 8:15 and 8:30 a.m., respectively. Spectators are allowed, and teams will be paired with their own teammates. Teams will test out the course on Friday with a practice round.
