ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team will return home to the Justice Center to host Radford on Thursday and Friday. Thursday's contest is set for a 4 p.m. first serve, while Friday's will begin at 3 p.m. Both matches will be on ESPN+.
Last Time Out – Asheville dropped a three-set match at Charleston Southern (25-13, 25-16, 28-26) on Tuesday. The loss pushes the Bulldogs' record to 4-6 on the 2021 spring campaign.
Bulldogs Bringing Home Awards – The Bulldogs collected a pair of weekly awards from the Big South on Tuesday. Peyton McClinton was named the league's player of the week, while Kasey West received the conference's libero of the week honor for the second straight week. It marks the first time the Bulldogs had picked up two weekly awards on the same day since November 12, 2018, when Cara Guthrie (Player) and Grace Volk (Freshman) earned recognition from the conference.
Back Home – Asheville will make its return to the Justice Center on Thursday after playing six straight matches away from home. During the road trip, the Bulldogs went 4-2. Asheville will have the advantage of playing four of its last six matches at home as it will also host Winthrop on March 30-31 to close out the regular season.
About Radford – Radford will come to Asheville Thursday looking to snap a three-match losing skid. The Highlanders, who are 3-5 this season, will be playing in just their third and fourth road matches of the season over the next two days.
Series Rewind vs. Radford – The all-time series between Radford and Asheville has been very competitive. Each program has won 33 times since the first meeting back in 1986. Radford has held the advantage lately as it has won six of the last seven meetings dating back to 2016.
