Men's tennis narrowly falls at Wofford 4-3

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team wrapped up its busy weekend of play on Sunday afternoon, falling at Wofford 4-3.
Charlie Morkel and Jon Brann Reid captured a gritty victory at the No. 2 doubles position, topping Javi Casasolas and Diego Losada 7-6. Oli Nolan and Sirawit Daosaengsawang fell at the No. 1 doubles flight, while Harry Thursfield and Leo Bierbaum were edged out at No. 3 doubles (7-5).
Nolan battled Omar Williams at the No. 1 singles position, forcing a third set after taking the second 6-3 before falling by that margin in the third. Morkel and Daosaengsawang each fell in two sets, but Thursfield, Reid and Bierbaum were able to grab victories at their respective flights.
Thursfield took down his opponent 6-4, 6-4 en route to his second victory at the No. 3 singles spot, while Reid topped Losada 6-4, 6-2 to move to 2-0 at the No. 4 singles and Bierbaum remained perfect at the No. 5 spot, taking his match 6-3, 7-6.
Asheville gets a bit of a break, returning to action next on Saturday when it hosts Montreat at 2:00 p.m.Players Mentioned
