Women’s Basketball Hits the Road to Presbyterian Tuesday

02.15.2021 | Women's Basketball

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team will return to the court on Tuesday when it travels to take on Presbyterian. Tip-off Tuesday is set for 6 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN+.

Last Time Out – The last time the Bulldogs played a game was back on February 6 when it fell in a close one to USC Upstate, 61-58. The loss moved Asheville's record to 7-10 overall and 6-6 in the Big South.

Milestone Watch – After reaching the 1,000-point milestone earlier this season, Nadiria Evans needs 22 more points to become only the tenth Bulldog to score 1,200 points. The current Big South scoring leader would be the first Asheville player to achieve this since Shonese Jones (2011-2015) finished her time in Asheville with 1,411 points.

Count on in Conference – Evans (19.2 PPG – 1st) and Kai Carter (14.4 PPG – 4th) currently rank in the top four in scoring during Big South games this season. Longwood is the only other team to have a pair of players that rank in the top five conference-only scoring list.

Schedule Switches – Tuesday's game is a result of a postponement earlier this season. The Bulldogs will make up another game against Hampton next Monday at 3 p.m. Asheville will also have another series to make up at Campbell that was supposed to be played last weekend. Stay tuned to uncabulldogs.com for the schedule updates as they become available.

About Presbyterian – PC has not played a game since February 3 against Asheville. Overall, the Blue Hose are 9-8 overall and 8-7 in Big South play. A strength for Presbyterian has been its ability to rebound. Currently, the Blue Hose sits at the top of the conference in rebounding margin (5.0).

Series Rewind vs. Presbyterian – The Bulldogs have won 17 of the 30 all-time meetings against Presbyterian. PC did get the better of Asheville earlier this month winning, 82-64, snapping a four-game winning streak the Bulldogs had in the series.

How to Follow – As mentioned earlier, fans can catch Tuesday night's game on ESPN+. Live stats will also be available HERE.
