Bulldogs battle but fall at Campbell 3-1

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team traveled to Campbell on Saturday night, hanging tough but ultimately falling to the Camels 3-1.
The Bulldogs drop to 3-10-1 on the season and 2-4 in Big South play while Campbell improves to 7-3-2 and 5-1-0 in conference and sits in second place overall after the weekend.
"Wasn't the result we wanted, but overall we were structured," said head coach Andy McNab. "Looking forward to getting back to work and facing Presbyterian Wednesday."

How it Happened
Campbell capitalized early, scoring in the fifth minute when Emma Bushee set up Cameron Turner for the score. In the 15th, Kaiya Boyd found Barrett Eidson who scored her first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. The Camels responded just minutes later, going up 2-1 in the 19th. Campbell pressed, but the Bulldogs traded chances with them down the stretch as the teams went into half.
The Camels opened up the second strong, getting a free kick, corner and four straight shots before they broke through again in the 62nd when Amber Liston made the score 3-1. Campbell would continue to press and although the Bulldogs would not concede another score, the Camels took the contest 3-1.
What's Next
The Bulldogs return home this Wednesday, hosting Presbyterian at 6:00 p.m.
