ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Saturday, traveling to Campbell for a match with the Camels at 7:00 p.m.
On the Road Again
After winning two in a row, the Bulldogs have dropped their last two contests in conference and sit at 2-3 in the Big South. Saturday's match will cap off a two-game road swing, with three of the last four contests slated to be played at Greenwood. Asheville's last road win did come in league play however, topping Hampton 4-0 on September 25.
Scouting the Camels
Campbell has the weekend 6-3-2 overall, but is a strong 4-1 in Big South play. The Camels have protected home field to this point, going 4-0-1 in Buies Creek. Campbell suffered its first Big South loss on Wednesday, falling at Longwood 1-0. The Camels rank second in the league in goals scored (24) and have allowed just 15 scores. Nine different players have scored for the Camels with seven finding the back of the net more than once, led by Elyssa Nowowieski's five goals. In net, Reaghan Duval ranks third in the conference with a goals against average of 1.1, collecting 42 saves.
Series History
Campbell has the edge in the all-time series, going 11-6-0. Although Campbell has won seven straight, five of the last seven games have been decided by two games or less, with last year's contest ending as an overtime heartbreaker for the Bulldogs (L, 0-1).
