Match moved to turf field due to rain

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team returns to their home city on Wednesday, hosting Radford at 2 p.m. at John B. Lewis Soccer Field.

Returning Home?
The match, which was originally scheduled to take place at Greenwood Field, was moved to John B. Lewis (JBL) due to rain. The JBL facility (439 Azalea Road East, Asheville, N.C., 28805) houses turf fields, and the teams will compete on Field 3.

Although it will look different, the Bulldogs will finally have their conference home opener on Wednesday, last competing at Greenwood Field on September 15 (College of Charleston). Asheville, who sits at 1-7, has played just two home matches this season, splitting those contests. Freshman Jarron James has been a bright spot for the Bulldogs this season, scoring two goals, including one in his collegiate debut against Northern Kentucky.

Scouting the Highlanders
Radford has struggled a little this season, going 2-6 with just one conference match under its belt, falling at Campbell 3-1. Most recently, Radford traveled to George Mason where they were edged out 3-2. Despite being 2-6 on the season, the Highlanders are just minus three in the goal deficit category (20-17), averaging 12.9 shots per game. While it has been a balanced attack – nine different goal scorers – Radford's offense is led by Yoshiya Okawa's four scores, while Juan Benavides and Dorion Dixon have each found the back of the net three times. Joseba Incera has manned the net, totaling 35 saves but conceding 17 goals.

Series History
The Highlanders had gotten the better of the Bulldogs in the series, going 13-5-0 when playing in Asheville. The two teams met in March at Radford, battling to a 1-1 draw.
