Women’s Tennis finishes day one of Wofford Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team opened play at the Wofford Invitational on Friday.

Doubles play began at 11:00 a.m., as Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson topped their opponents 6-2. Linge Steenkamp and Ari Singled battled in the doubles opener, edging out the competition 7-5. Kendall Byers and Lize Alet Morkel battled tough, but ultimately fell 5-7.

Rain would come in during the afternoon, pushing some doubles and singles play to Saturday. The action will resume at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, finishing the doubles play followed by singles competition.
