GAME NOTES (PDF)

ASHEVILLE, N.C.
 – After playing four consecutive games on the road, the UNC Asheville women's basketball team will return to Kimmel Arena for a two-game Big South series against Hampton on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is set to begin at 5 p.m. on ESPN+, while Saturday's will tip-off at 3 p.m. on ESPN3.

Last Time Out – Asheville split a pair of games on the road at Radford last weekend. The Bulldogs came away with an 84-80 victory in the first contest, but the Highlanders rebounded to take game two, 74-53. The split moved Asheville's record to 6-7 on the season and 5-3 in Big South play.

Another 30-point outing – A big key in Asheville's win Friday at Radford was senior Nadiria Evans as she scored a team-high 31 points. It marks the third 30-plus performance of the season for Evans as she continues to lead the Big South in scoring averaging 20 points per game. Evans is the only player in the Big South to have multiple 30-point performances this season.

Matching a Career-High – Asheville also received a stellar performance from another senior in Friday's win as Amaryah Corpening matched a career-high with 21 points. Corpening continues to be a dependable scoring option for the Bulldogs in her final season averaging 11.2 points per game, which ranks 12th in the conference.

Count on Kai – In Saturday's contest, Kai Carter paced all scorers with 17 points. This outing continues a string of solid performances for Carter as she is averaging 16.6 points per game over the last five games. Overall, Carter ranks sixth in the Big South averaging 14.1 points a game.

Getting the Free Ones – An underrated part of Asheville's success this season has been its ability to convert from the free throw line. When the Bulldogs make more free throws than their opponents, they are 5-2 compared to 1-5 when the other team holds that advantage. Overall, Asheville ranks in the top 50 nationally in terms of free throws made and attempted. Leading this charge has been Evans, who ranks third in attempts (121) and fourth in makes (91) from free throw line in Division I women's basketball.

Schedule Switches – These games against Hampton were originally supposed to be played on Jan. 10-11 but were postponed. Asheville will also play at Presbyterian on February 3 and February 16 as part of another rescheduling of another postponement and final regular season series against Gardner-Webb has been moved to March 2-3 from February 27-28 to accommodate other schedule changes across the league. About Hampton – The Lady Pirates enter this weekend's series with Asheville sporting a 4-7 overall record, including a 4-5 mark against Big South foes. Hampton is coming off a decisive 66-51 win against Radford at home on Tuesday. A player to watch for the Lady Pirates this weekend is Nylah Young, who is averaging 13 points per game to pace Hampton's offense.

Series Rewind vs. Hampton – Hampton and Asheville have only met four times through the years. HU has come away victorious in each of these meetings, including twice last season.

How to Follow – As mentioned earlier, Friday's game will be on ESPN+ and Saturday's will air on ESPN3. Mike Gore will have the radio call on Rewind 100.3, and live stats will also be available here
