Asheville announces basketball schedule changes

Bulldogs to appear on ESPNU twice
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Athletics Department announced schedule changes for the remainder of the 2020-21 men's and women's basketball seasons.
Both schedules have been adjusted due to the ongoing pandemic.
On the men's side, Asheville travels to Winthrop for a pair of Big South showdowns beginning tonight (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. on ESPNU and wrapping up Friday at 6:00 p.m. The series was originally slated for February 18-19, but was moved up due to both teams having openings in their schedules.
Following the Winthrop series, Asheville will now host Campbell on February 4-5, with next Thursday (Feb. 4) appearing on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs, who were originally scheduled to travel to USC Upstate on those dates, will visit Upstate on February 11-12, capping off the regular season with a pair of contests at Kimmel against Presbyterian on February 18-19. The Asheville-PC series was originally scheduled for January 4-5, but was postponed due to COVID concerns within the Blue Hose Program.
On the women's side, Asheville will host Hampton this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 29-30), after that series was moved from its originally scheduled dates of January 10-11. The Bulldogs will make up a pair of contests that were initially scheduled for January 4-5 at Presbyterian, on February 3 and on February 16. Lastly, Asheville will host Gardner-Webb on March 2-3 to wrap up the regular season (originally slated to be played February 26-27). The Bulldogs will play their contests against USC Upstate (Feb. 5-6), at Campbell (Feb. 12-13) and against Winthrop (Feb. 19-20) as originally scheduled.
