Notably
  • The Bulldogs and the Buccaneers have faced off in the Big South Championships only once in before. The two teams faced off in a Big South Tournament game in the 1993-94 season. UNC Asheville defeated Charleston Southern, 74-57, in that matchup to advance to the next round.
  • The Bulldogs have not played in a first round game in the Big South Championships since they were the No. 7 seed in the 2016-17 season. UNC Asheville defeated Longwood in that first round game and then went on to take down Campbell and Presbyterian before upsetting the No. 1 seeded Radford to win the Big South Championship and earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
  • Senior center Brooke Jordan-Brown has been one of the best rebounders in the nation this season. Jordan-Brown is 19th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game, 19th in total rebounds per game and 28th in total rebounds. She has averaged 12.2 rebounds per game since Big South Conference play began on December 28 and currently needs just 15 more rebounds to break the UNC Asheville D1 single season record.
  • Sonora Dengokl is currently averaging 12.8 points a game through her first 20 Big South Conference games. She has scored in double digits in 15 conference games. Dengokl is also just 14 rebounds shy of reaching the 500 career rebounds milestone as well.
