Bulldogs to Host Winthrop Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's basketball will return to Kimmel Arena, Saturday, February 15, for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Winthrop Eagles.
The game will be presented by TD Bank and will be a part of the Bulldogs Pride Day doubleheader with the men's team playing at 4:30 p.m. For a special Pride Day ticket discount go to uncabulldogs.com and use promo code "PRIDE".
UNC Asheville (13-10, 7-7) has played to a 7-7 record in Big South Conference play. Three of the Bulldogs six victories have come from inside Kimmel Arena as UNC Asheville has defeated Presbyterian, Campbell and High Point at home. The Bulldogs defeated USC Upstate in the Hodge Center for their first Big South road win of the season before taking down preseason favorite Radford inside the Dedmon Center a few days later. The Bulldogs grabbed another victory on the road as they defeated Winthrop, 50-43, inside the Winthrop Coliseum on Jan. 28. UNC Asheville won their seventh conference game earlier this week when they defeated Presbyterian on the road.
Since conference play began on Dec. 28, two Bulldogs have averaged a double-digit point total as Nadiria Evans has scored 14.3 points per game in conference play while redshirt senior Sonora Dengokl is currently averaging 13.1 points per game through the first 12 Big South games of the season. Brooke Jordan-Brown is leading the Big South Conference with 12.1 rebounds a game since conference play began.
Winthrop (10-12, 7-6) is 7-6 in Big South Conference play. They have struggled on the road in conference play as they have played to a 2-5 road record. UNC Asheville defeated Winthrop, 50-43, earlier this season on the Eagles' home floor. That victory marked the ninth straight victory the Bulldogs have claimed against Winthrop.
