ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's basketball will host Big South rival Campbell in a 2 p.m. matchup, Saturday, January 4, inside Kimmel Arena.

The Bulldogs defeated Presbyterian last weekend by a score of 54-39 to open Big South play. Zip Scott scored in double-figures with 13 points while Brooke Jordan-Brown corralled a career-high 23 rebounds. UNC Asheville secured a season-high 51 rebounds in the victory. The Bulldogs then fell to Hampton despite a strong second half effort that saw the Bulldogs outscore the Pirates in the final 20 minutes of play. Brooke Jordan-Brown and Sonora Dengokl each recorded a double-double while Dengokl scored a season-high 18 points.

UNC Asheville (7-4, 1-1) was the only team in the Big South to secure six nonconference victories in their nine games. The Bulldogs' six wins were highlighted by road victories against ETSU and Western Carolina. Kimmel Arena once again proved to be kind to the Bulldogs as UNC Asheville secured three wins on their home court with victories against Lenoir-Rhyne, Montreat and South Carolina State. UNC Asheville played to a 12-3 record inside Kimmel Arena last season. UNC Asheville wrapped its nonconference wins with a neutral site victory against Southern.

Campbell (7-4, 2-0) has opened conference play 2-0 after defeating High Point and USC Upstate. This will be the first Big South Conference road test for the Camels as they opened with two straight home games. The Camels are 1-4 in road matchups this year with their lone victory coming at Western Carolina on Nov. 14.
