Bulldogs Set to Open 2019-20 Campaign at MSU Greenbrier Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – UNC Asheville's women's golf team will begin its fourth season of competition when it heads to Lexington, Kentucky, to play in the Morehead State Greenbrier Invitational, Monday and Tuesday.
The action is set to begin 9:15 Monday morning at Greenbrier Golf & Country Club, as the Bulldogs will be grouped with Austin Peay and Tennessee State. The other programs competing in the event are Morehead State, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech, Northern Kentucky, Belmont and Illinois-Chicago. Kentucky will also be represented, as three Wildcats will be competing as individuals, along with extra players from the participating teams.
A veteran group will be competing for the Bulldogs, as seniors Adelyn Deery, Kellen Alsip, Janie Thomas and Linna Brooks will play in their final first match of the season as UNC Asheville student-athletes. Joining the four seniors in the lineup will be sophomore Baylee Evans.
The quintet of Bulldogs is set to begin its day on the back part of the golf course, teeing off from Holes 14-18. The first day of action will be a grind, as the teams will play 36 holes, Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.
The 2019-20 campaign also marks the second season for head coach Ericka Schneider, who will look to lead the Bulldogs to their fourth tournament victory in program history and second with Schneider at the helm.
