Bulldogs to Take on ETSU Sunday

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., Sunday, August 25, to take on Southern Conference member ETSU. The match will be played at the Summers-Taylor Stadium at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs took the pitch, Saturday, August 17, for a scrimmage versus South Carolina State and came away with a 6-0 victory. Five Bulldogs found the back of the net, while sophomore Gillian Oyos led the charge with two second half goals. The other goals were accounted for by returners Maya Gutman and Courtney McCluskey and newcomers Ava Nkadiand Chloe Lamenzo.
The Bulldogs began their regular season Friday night with a 2-0 loss to American at Greenwood Field. The ETSU Bucs are 1-0 in the 2019 season after defeating King College, 4-0, Thursday, August 22.
These two programs last saw each other back in the 2012 season when they met at Greenwood Field. The Bucs came away with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs. Prior to that, the Bulldogs traveled to Johnson City, Tenn. in 2011 and in the 2009 season and shut out the Bucs, 1-0, on their home field in the 2009 matchup.
