ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's basketball head coach Mike Morrell announced the addition of Jack Hayes to the coaching staff as the Director of Basketball Operations on Monday, August 12, 2019.

Hayes joins the Bulldogs after most recently spending two years as a graduate assistant for the men's basketball program at Kent State.

Prior to his time at Kent State, Hayes was a student manager for the men's basketball program at Xavier for four years.

"Jack has been a part of some great programs and had the opportunity to work with some great staffs during his time at Kent State and Xavier," Morrell said. "He will be a tremendous addition to our staff here at UNC Asheville. We are very excited to welcome him into the Bulldog family."

While at Kent State, Hayes created personalized development plans and coordinated logistics for recruiting visits in addition to facilitating content for social media. He also charted and recorded stats to provide advanced modeling of successful approaches to game strategy for the coaching staff and players.

Hayes also served as Kent State's Camp Director during the summer of 2018, organizing and overseeing the day to day operations of three camp sessions with over 150 campers at each session.

As a student manager at Xavier, Hayes maintained an organized file of game film and prepared original film edits for the men's basketball program. He assisted the Director of Basketball Operations with various duties such as organizing team travel logistics and maintaining all necessary supplies for the program's needs.

Hayes received a Master of Sport and Recreation Management from Kent State University in May of 2019.

He graduated from Xavier University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
