UNC Asheville Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Honors

ITA All-Academic Teams and Honorees 

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) named the UNC Asheville women's tennis team as an All-Academic Team on Thursday, July 18.

Eight Bulldogs were tabbed Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 season by the ITA.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

The UNC Asheville women's tennis team led all programs at UNC Asheville during the 2018-19 athletic year with a 3.665 team grade-point average.

The eight Bulldogs honored by the ITA were Madeline Finley, Hannah Francisco, Anastasia Horvat, Christin Louw, Lize Alet Morkel, Kylee Shipley, Emily Sidor and Lauren Watson-Steele.
