2019-20 Women's Golf Schedule
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's golf head coach Ericka Schneider unveiled the 2019-20 schedule for the Bulldogs recently.
The Bulldogs will compete in 10 tournaments in total in the upcoming year highlighted by hosting the Second Annual French Broad Collegiate Invitational March 29-31, 2020.
"I am extremely excited to see what the 2019-20 season has in store for this team and program," Schneider said. "I have a great group of girls that work hard both on and off the golf course. With a team win each year this program has existed, it has had great success so far and I look forward to building on that. This year we will have our first graduating class and we thought what better way to celebrate that than with a cross pacific golf tournament hosted by the University of Hawai'i. I couldn't have asked for a better first year as a head coach. I look forward to another great year this year as well!"
UNC Asheville will open the fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule by competing in Morehead State's Greenbrier Invitational at the Greenbrier Country Club in Lexington, Ky. for the second straight year. Rising senior Kellen Alsip was named Big South Women's Golfer of the Week last year on Sept. 20, 2018 after finishing in third place at the 2018 MSU Greenbrier Invitational. The 2019 MSU Greenbrier Invitational will be held Sept. 16-17.
The Bulldogs will next compete in the 2019 Starmount Fall Classic hosted by UNCG at the Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Sept. 30-Oct. 1. The Bulldogs will be participating in the tournament for the first time since their inaugural season in 2016-17.
UNC Asheville will travel to Union, Ky. to compete in the NKU Fall Classic at the Lassing Pointe Golf Course Oct. 7-8.
The Bulldogs will then play a familiar course in The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C. by participating in the Blue Hose Match Play event for the second consecutive year. The 2019 Blue Hose Match Play will be held Oct. 21-22.
For the second straight year UNC Asheville will close out the fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule by competing in the Terrier Intercollegiate Oct. 28-29 at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
After a few months off from competition, UNC Asheville opens its spring schedule by playing in the 2020 Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational for the first time as a program Feb. 21-23 at the Landing Course in Greensboro, Ga.
UNC Asheville will next travel outside of the lower 48 states for the first time in program history to compete in the 2020 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational March 10-11 in Honolulu, Hawai'i at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
