Two Bulldog Doubles Duos Win Brackets at Wofford Fall Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Two UNC Asheville women's tennis doubles pairings won their respective brackets at the Wofford Fall Invitation during the second day of competition, Saturday.
Ami Grace Dougah and Taylor Love, playing in the Black Doubles Bracket, won their semifinal matchup with Bethany Lacey and Jessica Leeman of Presbyterian, 6-4. They returned to the court and took down Madison Ballow and Elizabeth Stefancic of Marshall, 6-3, to win their bracket.
Anastasia Horvat and Lauren Watson-Steele also had a nice day on the court together, first picking up a victory against Eliza Babos and Jill Morse of Arkansas State, 6-2, in their semifinal matchup of the Gray Doubles Bracket. The Bulldogs' duo then won its bracket with a 6-2 victory against Milica Panic and Mayumi Saguchi in the bracket final.
Dougah continued her fine performance on Saturday with a singles victory in her semifinal matchup in the Gold Singles Bracket, taking down Jenna Vroman of Wofford, 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the bracket final.
Horvat, playing in the round-robin Terrier Singles, won her second singles match with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 victory against Emma Allen of Arkansas State.
After an opening round defeat in doubles play, Rosie Dickson and Lize Alet Morkel won two matchups in the Gold Doubles back draw matches, first taking down Emily Elliot and Jordan Strickland of Western Carolina, 6-1. They then beat Shelby King and Shannon O'Brien of Arkansas State, 6-2.
In the back draw of the College Singles Bracket, Dickson defeated Kara Joseph of Marshall, 6-0, 6-2.
The Bulldogs will close out their fall slate with the remainder of singles action, Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
