Bulldogs Wrap Up Third Day of Competition at GSU Fall Shootout

STATESBORO, Ga. – UNC Asheville's women's team picked up two singles victories and two doubles victories, Sunday, in the final day of competition at the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout.
Ami Grace Dougah and Taylor Love paired up and took home their second victory in as many days, defeating Harriet Hamilton and Balsen Kaya of Jacksonville State, 6-4, in the back draw final of the True Blue Doubles bracket. Emily Sidor and Brianna Taranto also took home a victory in the back draw final of their bracket, defeating Alara Hollyfield and Lauren Rich of Mercer, 6-4.
Dougah also rebounded after a loss Saturday to defeat Priya Sukkanha of SCAD in two tightly-contested sets, 7-6 (1), 7-5, in the consolation match of the True Blue Singles bracket. Taranto took down Tova Tilk Tobrand of SCAD, 6-0, 6-4, in the consolation match in the back draw of the White Singles bracket.
Emily Sidor was the lone Bulldog to advance to a singles final, but fell to Malin Buechner of Jacksonville State, 6-4, 6-1, in the GATA Singles bracket.
The Bulldogs will have a week off before heading to ITA Regionals, hosted at Wake Forest, October 24-28.
