Bulldogs Drop Match at Campbell

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Two finished the match with double-digit kills for the Bulldogs, but it was Campbell that was able to take a 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-18) Big South victory over UNC Asheville on Friday evening at Gore Arena.
UNC Asheville (5-8, 0-3 Big South Conference) was led in the match by Ansley Rooks' 11 kills. She finished the match hitting an impressive .500.
Julia Borges ended the match with 10 kills for the Bulldogs. She hit .333 in the match.
Carter Kennedy closed out the match with a team-best 15 assists, while Madisen Zyburt had 11 digs in the match. Julia Loveday led UNC Asheville with two blocks.
Campbell (4-9, 2-1 Big South Conference) was paced by Jessica Stocking's 16 kills. Sarah Colla had 15 kills for the Camels.

"It was a tough match for us tonight," UNC Asheville volleyball head coach Frederico Santos said. "We just could not get anything going against a tough Campbell team. It's still a young season with a lot of work for us to do."

UNC Asheville next returns home to the Justice Center for two matches next weekend. The Bulldogs will first play host to Gardner-Webb for a 6 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 5 before playing host to Winthrop at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6.
