The Bulldogs had another great chance in the 29th minute, but Brendan O'Dowd's shot was saved by Wofford goalkeeper Shane Berson.

Quotable
"I thought that overall we played pretty well tonight in terms of our effort and our ability to compete," UNC Asheville men's soccer head coach Mathes Mennell said. "I don't know that it was the prettiest soccer game, but that is pretty standard this time of year in college because it's so early in the season and the game is going to be a little choppy and not have a super flow to it.
"I thought our guys continued to get better at the things we needed to. I think this is still a process and we have a lot to work on, but we took a very good step forward and we'll continue that as the week goes on. As the saying goes, we're on to Upstate next and we've got a great opportunity to open conference play at home against a very good Upstate team. We're looking forward it."
