Bulldogs Close Out Regular-Season by Honoring Senior Amalie Davidsen

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's tennis was unable to pick up the victory in its regular-season finale with Campbell taking a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

The match opened with Campbell (12-7, 6-2 Big South Conference) taking the doubles point over UNC Asheville (9-10, 2-6 Big South Conference).

The Bulldogs from there would take two of the six singles flights with wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.

UNC Asheville's Kylee Shipley picked up a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 win over Campbell's Ana Castillo at No. 1 singles. The victory allowed Shipley to end the regular-season with a team-best 12 wins. Shipley collected 11 of her 12 wins at No. 1 singles.

Taylor Love closed out her impressive freshman regular-season with eight wins after a 6-2, 6-3 win over Isabel Boada at No. 5 singles. It was her second win of the season at No. 5 singles.

After the match, UNC Asheville head coach Lise Gregory and the Bulldogs honored senior Amalie Davidsen.

UNC Asheville women's tennis will next compete in the 2018 Big South Women's Tennis Championship in Rock Hill, S.C. that will get underway on Wednesday, April 18.
