UNC Asheville is hosting Youth Cheer and Dance Day, where it will honor and recognize local programs.
At halftime, Center Stage Dance Studio will perform, and prior to the game, senior guard Khaila Webb will be presented with her 1,000th career point ball.
Last Time Out
To end their seven-game road winning streak, the Bulldogs fell 53-48 to Liberty on Saturday at the Vines Center.
Senior guard Webb scored her 1,000th point during the game, which makes her the 20th Bulldog and 116th player to achieve this milestone in the Big South Conference.
Bronaza Fitzgerald led the Bulldog offense with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The double-double marked the 15th career and 11th double-double of the season for the senior. Of those 10 boards, four came on the offensive glass. Webb was the second Bulldog to post double-figures, as the 1,000-point scorer totaled 10 points versus the Flames. She also tallied three assists and one block.
Freshman Nadiria Evans finished the contest with eight points on 4-for-7 shooting in 17 minutes of action.
As a team, Asheville finished the game shooting 36 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs capitalized on 15 Liberty turnovers, as they totaled 14 points off miscues.
Scouting the Camels
Campbell enters the mid-week contest with a 13-12 overall record and a 6-8 mark in Big South Conference games. On the road this season, the Camels are 6-6 with their most recent road result being a 57-50 defeat to Longwood this past Saturday.
Senior guard Summer Price is the player to watch for Campbell, as the Virginia native leads the team in scoring (15.4 ppg), total steals (33), three-pointers made (58), field goals made (138) and minutes per contest (35.6). MaKala Rouse is the Camels leading rebounder, as she grabs 5.9 rebounds per game. Kyra Davis, who has appeared in all 25 games this season, paces the team with 23 total blocks.
All-Time History Versus Campbell
Tuesday's contest marks the 41st all-time meeting between the two clubs with Campbell holding a narrow 21-19 edge. The Bulldogs have currently won back-to-back games against the Camels - earlier this season and in the second round of the 2016-17 Big South Conference Tournament.
In the head-to-head earlier this season, the Bulldogs downed the Camels 60-52 behind Fitzgerald's 16 points and 12 rebounds. The senior went 7-for-10 from the field, and of her 12 total rebounds, nine came on the defensive glass. She also totaled two blocks and a steal in 22 minutes. Jessica Wall was the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer with nine points, as she made four field goals. The junior also tallied a game-high three steals to go along with two assists.
