Bulldogs Drop Mountain Rivalry Match to Appalachian State

BOONE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team was unable to best Mountain Rival Appalachian State on Friday with the Mountaineers collecting a 6-1 win at the Deer Valley Racquet Club.
The match was a great deal closer though than the 6-1 score indicates with UNC Asheville (2-2) narrowly missing on taking more wins on the day over Appalachian State (5-4).
Appalachian State claimed all three doubles competitions to earn the doubles point in the match.
UNC Asheville's Emily Sidor secured the lone win on the day for the Bulldogs with a 6-1, 3-6, 10-8 victory over Heidi Swope at No. 4 singles.

Emily Sidor's victory at No. 4 singles allowed her to move to 1-2 on the season in singles. She is 1-0 at the No. 4 spot.
