Bulldogs Drop Road Contest on Saturday

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team fell, 3-0, to High Point on Saturday, as the Bulldogs allowed three second-half goals at Vert Stadium.

How It Happened
The first half was slow for both teams, as both UNC Asheville and High Point only took two shots each. Gillian Oyos and Skyler Chillson struck the two shots for the Bulldogs but neither attempt was on goal.
HPU didn't find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes, which held the contest scoreless at the halftime break.
The Panthers scored the game's first goal three minutes into the second half. Skyler Prillaman tallied the goal for HPU, as she posted her team-leading sixth goal of the year.
For the next 31 minutes, the Panthers started to pepper the Asheville net. HPU struck seven total shots during that stretch with only one of those being on goal.
High Point eventually found the back of the net again in the 79th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Caitlin Shepherd tallied her first goal of the year.
The Panthers capped off the game in the 85th minute with their third goal of the game and sealed the three-goal victory over the Bulldogs.
Overall High Point took 15 shots with five on frame, while UNC Asheville struck five shots.
What's Next?
UNC Asheville opens a two-game home stretch by hosting Winthrop on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Greenwood Field. The Big South match will be streamed on ESPN+.
