UNC Asheville Volleyball Picks Up Fourth Straight Win With Sweep at Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – UNC Asheville picked up its fourth straight win with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-18) Big South road victory at Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Cara Guthrie of UNC Asheville (10-11, 5-6 Big South) picked up her four straight and eighth double-double of the year overall in the match with 14 digs and 12 kills in the win over Gardner-Webb (7-18, 1-11 Big South).
UNC Asheville's Madisen Zyburt finished the Bulldog win with 11 digs.
The Bulldog attack was paced again by Grace Volk, who ended her day with 31 assists and seven digs.
Julia Borges for the second straight match flirted with a triple-double with eight digs, six kills and six blocks.
Hannah Lancaster and Nichole Ford led Gardner-Webb in its loss with seven kills each.

Cara Guthrie picked up her fourth consecutive double-double and eighth of the season in UNC Asheville's win over Gardner-Webb. Guthrie has averaged 4.29 kills and 3.79 digs per set in the last four matches for UNC Asheville.
Nearing 1,000 Digs
Cara Guthrie already has surpassed 1,000 kills in her career earlier this season, but she is nearing joining the ultra-exclusive club of those with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. After the win over Gardner-Webb, Guthrie now has 973 digs in her career.
