ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Looking to extend its five-game road winning streak, the UNC Asheville women's basketball team travels to Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. inside Paul Porter Arena.
About UNC Asheville
To end its five-game winning streak, the Bulldogs fell 76-74 at home to Presbyterian. Bronaza Fitzgerald ended the game with 23 points (new career high) as she shot 10-for-17 from the field. She also grabbed 16 boards, which was only one shy from matching a career high that she set two games ago at Winthrop on Jan. 20. With her 23 points and 16 rebounds, she recorded her 12th career double-double and the seventh of the season.
Jessica Wall was the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer as she tallied 12 points, which all came behind the three-point arc (4-for-9). She corralled five rebounds and dished out three assists and three steals.
Khaila Webb and Ali Trani each tallied nine points. Webb matched a career high with seven assists, and Trani made four baskets and grabbed four rebounds.
As a team, Asheville totaled 34 points in the paint including 15 points off turnovers. It tallied 10 fast-break points while shooting .491 percent from the field.

In the last five road games (USC Upstate, Campbell, Radford. Winthrop and Charleston Southern), the Bulldogs are 5-0.
UNC Asheville is averaging 70.2 ppg while holding opponents to 57.4 (12.8 scoring margin). The Bulldogs have made 18 more field goals on one fewer shot attempt. They are also getting to the free-throw line more often (37 more times) and have made 27 more free-throws. The Bulldogs are also averaging eight more rebounds than opponents (37.8 to 29.8). They have committed seven fewer total turnovers and forced 13 more total steals during that stretch.
Also during its five-game road winning streak, Asheville is out-scoring opponents 200-144 in the second half.

Tuesday's contest marks the 40th all-time meeting between the two clubs as Asheville holds a narrow 21-18 advantage.
